“Due to Sergeant Taylor’s swift actions, the driver was removed from a dangerous situation before it escalated,” Candler County Sheriff John Miles said.
Dramatic video captured the moment a Georgia sheriff’s deputy lept into action and rescued a woman from a burning car deep in the woods.
He smashes the driver’s side window with a baton while yelling at the woman to remove her seatbelt and get out of the car, the video shows. The dramatic rescue was captured by Taylor’s body-worn camera and posted by the Candler County Sheriff’s Office.The woman appeared to be OK after Taylor pulled her out of the flaming car.“Give me your hand,” Taylor shouts as he drags the woman out of the burning car. “C’mon, get out of the car.”
After clearing the car, Taylor asks a bystander to help carry the woman out of the woods and away from the blaze.
