Gas prices have climbed over $5 per gallon in Southern California this week, and experts with AAA are unsure when drivers will see relief.

That’s about 20 cents higher than last month but nearly 50 cents below prices seen at the same time last year; prices at the pump hit historic highs in the state in 2022, and Gov. GavinAAA officials chalked up this price spike to a cutback in oil production by OPEC and a rise in oil prices.
As of Tuesday, oil prices were set at $86.60 per barrel, up from $86.45 per barrel in the week prior.
