The group of up to teens have been raiding several stores leaving staff and customers 'petrified'
Angry employees at two shops who are being tormented by a balaclava gang of youths in a never-ending crime spree believe not enough is being done to stop them. A group of up to 12 teens, with estimated ages between 13 and 17, have been breaking into shops in East Hull for the last few months, leaving customers and staff "petrified".
"She was in bits, it was horrible. She has come back to work but she’s a little bit on edge so we’ve been making sure we buddy up when we go home and we make sure everyone gets home alright because they are often outside when we finish work. She said the gang "come in and disperse themselves", making it hard to get them out of the store and has called for a greater police presence in the area. Despite reporting the criminals to the police, she says she feels unsafe and claims no officers have checked on the staff's wellbeing.
"The customers do help us by telling us kids have run in and grabbed loads of chocolate and they go outside and get the chocolates that they've dropped on the floor but they shouldn't have to put up with that, especially how regularly it is and when they are knocking the elderly over it's disgusting."
