Many Biden administration critics have slammed the new Disinformation Governance Board at the Department of Homeland Security.
"Biden is just a front man. Obama, April 21: social media censors 'don't go far enough,' so the government needs to step in to do the job.
"Given the sheer volume of content, this strategy can feel like a game of whack-a-mole. Still, in talking to people at these companies, I believe they are sincere in trying to limit content that engages in hate speech, encourages violence, or poses a threat to public safety. They genuinely are concerned about it and they want to do something about it," Obama continued.
"But while content moderation can limit the distribution of clearly dangerous content, it doesn't go far enough," he said.Former Democratic Representative Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii accused President Joe Biden of being a"front man" for former President Barack Obama. "Mr. President, welcome back to the White House, man. It feels like the good old days. Being here with you brings back so many good memories. We just had lunch together and we weren't sure who was supposed to sit where," Biden quipped during the April 5 visit. Obama jokingly referred to Biden as"vice president" and also described the current president as an"extraordinary friend and partner."
