The Cuyahoga Valley National Park is inviting children ages 9-12 to join the many anglers who have fished the Cuyahoga River at the free Junior Ranger event on Aug. 14 from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m.

Participants will learn about the wildlife that inhabits the river while practicing the fundamentals of using a fishing rod and reel. Children who complete the event will earn their Junior Ranger Angler Badge. The event is recommended for ages 9-12 and all children must be accompanied by an adult. Participants should bring water, sun protection and bug spray/repellant. Comfortable clothes and shoes that can get a little dirty are recommended. U.S. Coast Guard approved life vests will be provided and are required for all participants.

Restroom facilities and parking will be available on site. Registration is required and filling up quickly. Only participating children need tickets, which do not need to be printed for the event.
