A Fox News panel expressed fears President Donald Trump may inflame 'leave' Brexit and anti-NATO sentiment during his U.K. visit.
A Monday Fox News panel expressed fears President Donald Trump could inflame Brexit and anti-NATO sentiment during his U.K. visit and urged him to strengthen and not divide ties with longtime European allies.
"We're going through a little bit of a spurt of isolationism again right now, a little bit of pulling back in the United States, which has been a bit of contrast from the United States' greatest moments after World War II," remarked Fox News contributor John Bussey, who cited the Marshall Plan and the rebuilding of Japan after World War II as proud historical American achievements.
Mary Anne Marsh, former senior adviser to John Kerry, noted the Speaker of Parliament will not allow Trump to address the legislative body -- an honor given to former Presidents Barack Obama and Ronald Reagan. "As we this morning talk about alliances and our relationships with the EU, alliances work when everyone's paying their fair share," Avella said on Fox News Monday."Otherwise the EU is beneficiaries, we are their benefactors, and that is ultimately what the president has tried to move us towards is whether that be with NATO or whether that be with the EU, that everyone is paying their fair share.
