Breaking 🚨 AppleTV+ announces the official summer release date for Foundation season 2 with a brand-new trailer that showcases the oncoming uprising.
Foundation season 2 has a new full trailer showcasing the coming storm. The series, which is based on the Foundation stories by legendary sci-fi writer Isaac Asimov, originally premiered on Apple TV+ in September 2021. It follows an exiled group known as the Foundation who fight back against an evil Empire over thousands of years and features a huge ensemble cast that includes Jared Harris, Lee Pace, Lou Llobell, Leah Harvey, Laura Birn, and Terrence Mann.
Everything We Know About Foundation Season 2 As the trailer teases, Foundation season 2 is set to push the epic scope of the series even further. Set over 100 years after the events of the Foundation season 1 finale, it finds the organization in an entirely new phase now guided more by religious fervor. While trouble brews with a vengeful queen and a newly discovered community of powerful Mentalics, the war with the Empire begins in earnest.
While the cast of the original season will remain, there will also be some major additions in the upcoming episodes. This includes House of Cards and The Exorcist's Ben Daniels as imperial general Bel Riose, Hunt for the Wilderpeople and Moana star Rachel House as Mentalic leader Tellem Bond, and Wayward Pines and Homeland's Nimrat Kaur as Yanna Seldon, the granddaughter of Harris' psychohistorian Hari Seldon.
The release of Foundation season 2 will also be accompanied by Foundation: The Official Podcast, hosted by Jason Concepcion and creator David Goyer. From the looks of things, the scale of the show is going to provide an epic experience. Foundation season 1 was a space opera of dazzling proportions and this trailer reveals it will only expand even further in these new episodes.
