It's being sold with a guide price of £65,000
The former Nottinghamshire home of a renowned writer is up for auction. The three bedroom property on Lynncroft, Eastwood, was lived in by D H Lawrence for a number of years and was also where his mother passed away.
Nottinghamshire historian, Gavin Gillespie has been researching D H Lawrence for years. He said: "I've worked it out that he lived there from 1903 to 1908 and from 1908 he then moved to Croydon to be a school teacher."Then he returned back to the house in 1910 when his mother was dying as he was with his mother in that house when she died. I think he was living in the house from when he was 17 to 22.
Andrew Binstock, co-founder of Auction House London, told the BBC: "On this particular occasion, what seemed like a very ordinary three-bed end-of-terrace house in Eastwood turned out to be something quite different. It seems to have captured quite a few people's imaginations, that's for sure.
