The supermarket closed down in 2021
A new location for an adults-only crazy golf course with a 'naughty sense of humour' has been revealed. Back in May Golf Fang unveiled plans to open the 18-hole course, combined with themed cocktails in a graffiti ‘sprayground' at an old industrial site in Daleside Road, Sneinton.
The former factory was once occupied by furnace parts supplier Almor Limited. But now Golf Fang, which has six other sites in cities including Birmingham and Cardiff, has applied for a premises licence to sell alcohol at a different building, with an application submitted to Nottingham City Council. The latest application is for a unit The Glasshouse, in Huntingdon Street, which was previously an Aldi supermarket until its closure in August 2021. It has since been put on the market by commercial property agents FHP. Student accommodation is based on the upper floors of the building.A spokeswoman for Golf Fang said she was unable to comment at this time. The Nottingham site would be the first Golf Fang attraction in the East Midlands.
Founders Kip Piper and Daniel Bolger opened their first site in Liverpool in 2016 inside the 25,000 square-foot Cains Brewery. Previously Kip said: “We are really excited to grow the Golf Fang brand and to be bringing the experience to the East Midlands. Nottingham is a great location for the newest Golf Fang and we love the energy and atmosphere the city has to offer."
The venture allows "authentic street writers" to express themselves without damaging property or getting into trouble with authorities. According to Golf Fang's website: "We combine each street artists work with tailored lighting and exciting scenery. Golf Fang is a mind-blowing explosion of colour and weirdness.
