Man fighting for life after 'targeted attack' in Cheetham Hill More:
Forensics remain at the scene of a reported shooting after a man in his 20s remains fighting for his life in hospital. Police responded to reports of gunshots in Cheetham Hill just before midnight on Wednesday .
Detectives, who are treating the incident as attempted murder, are still hunting the gunman. Investigations remain ongoing with a scene in place on Ermington Drive.Forensics were pictured within the cordon throughout the day on Thursday as evidence markers were placed on the ground. The force is appealing for witnesses who were in the vicinity of Ermington Drive or anyone who may have any CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage, to come forward.
“We appreciate how concerned you must be but we can reassure you that this was a targeted attack, albeit one which has left a young man with extremely serious injuries.
