Jordan James Adam and Richard Love violently pounced on Paul Connolly following a clash between Gers and Hoops on February 2 in 2022 - which left the social worker with a bleed on his brain.

Violence following football games has been branded "utterly unacceptable" after a pair of Rangers fans left a Celtic supporter with a bleed on his brain.

Glasgow Sheriff Court heard that Adam and Love - from Airdrie and Coatbridge - were travelling home after the game from Queen Street station. Celtic had earlier beaten Rangers 3-0 at Parkhead that night.READ MORE: Man, 26, dies after multi-vehicle crash in west of the city as road closed for eight hoursAdam and Love sang "Glasgow Celtic paedophiles" at social worker Mr Connolly who told them to be quiet.

After they were separated, Mr Connolly moved to the next carriage. When the train arrived at Easterhouse railway station, he left the train and Love immediately ran towards him and knocked him to the ground. Love proceeded to punch Mr Connolly repeatedly while they were on the ground before Adam ran over, stamping on his head and knocking him unconscious.

Adam and Love pled guilty to assaulting Mr Connolly to his severe injury, impairment, permanent disfigurement and danger of life.
