Just after 2 p.m., a witness called in a carjacking in the 4200 block of University Way Northeast. Shortly afterward, the victim called in to report the robbery himself. According to police, the carjacker walked up to the victim’s window and showed a gun while demanding the victim get out of the car.The victim was able to track his phone, which had been in the car, to SPD’s East Precinct area. The phone was found on the road at 23rd Avenue and Mercer Street.
