“It’s great watching people watching the practices,” Bonk said. “There’s not really pressure from people or the staff. ... Kaplan, a third-round draft pick by the Flyers last year, appeared in all 40 games for Boston University in his freshman campaign. He collected 10 goals and 13 assists, including the game-tying goal against Merrimack in the Hockey East final, and was named to the Hockey East all-tournament team.The whole season wasn’t smooth sailing. At the start, Kaplan said he required an adjustment to NCAA hockey, but then he worked on becoming a “Swiss Army knife.
