The unnamed child was shot in the head when gunfire broke out near a picnic area off the Courtney Campbell Causeway in Tampa.
The boy was struck by a stray bullet on Tuesday night.As of Wednesday afternoon, no arrests have been made and police are urging the public to come forward with information.
