'We'll continue to update customers whose journey with us today might be delayed as a result of the now-resolved issues,' said Southwest Airlines after multiple flights delayed due to outage.
HOUSTON, Texas -- Southwest Airlines announced early Saturday morning that flights are expected to be delayed due to a country-wide system outage.
An Eyewitness News crew was at Houston's Hobby International Airport when passengers were told that they were unable to board their flight due to the outage and they will be updated every 10 minutes. We are experiencing flight disruptions across our network today due to briefly pausing our service earlier this morning as we worked to resolve an intermittent technology issue, as well as ongoing weather challenges impacting multiple areas within our system. At Chicago's Midway Airport, 10 flights have been canceled and 54 have been delayed. Arrival delays were averaging an hour and 13 minutes.
We offer our heartfelt apologies for any inconvenience, and we will continue to work with Customers who experience a disruption in their travel plans.
