Lewis Campbell, from Cumnock, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on Boig Road in New Cumnock at around 6pm on Tuesday.
Tributes have been paid to a 15-year-old who died in a horror crash in Ayrshire that also left five teenagers injured.Lewis was a passenger in a Peugeot 208 driven by an 18-year-old boy. Following the devastating news tributes have flooded in for the popular young lad.
Loved ones have also taken to social media to invite the community to come to a balloon release to honour Lewis' memory. The incident comes as New Cumnock continues to mourn the death of nine-year-old Naomi Ferrans, who was knocked off her bike and killed by a tractor less than a five-minute drive away at the town's Castle Place on September 18.
The road remained closed while crash investigations were carried out. Officers are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
