An image of 15 year old found guilty of stabbing another teen to death has been released for the first time. Leighton Amies killed Tomasz Oleszak, 14, last October after plunging a knife into the boys chest in a nature park in Gateshead, England.
According to the Mirror, Tomasz had been out with friends in Springwell Estate on October 4 when a dispute between his friends and another group of teens arose. The 14 year old was stabbed just above his heart with the blade hitting his aorta. “Tomasz had his whole life ahead of him, he was a promising footballer and a popular pupil at his school. Today, Leighton Amies has been found guilty of murder but no conviction or any length of sentence will ever bring Tomasz back.
During the trial Mark McKone KC, prosecuting, told the jury how Tomasz was in a group of youths who followed Amies as he walked through Whitehills Nature Park with his girlfriend last October. Amies told the gang "I have wetted your boy" after Tomasz was stabbed.
