The fire has burned 570 acres, fire officials said.
Cooler weather worked with firefighters in Napa County to help them gain more advantage on a vegetation fire burning there since Tuesday, fire officials said.
The Old Fire has burned 570 acres and was 45% contained as of about 7 a.m. Thursday morning, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. The fire has not grown in size since Tuesday night. In a social media post, CalFire’s Sonoma Lake Napa unit said crews will spend Thursday putting out hot spots and continuing to mop up.
One firefighter was hospitalized with what fire officials called a minor injury. Nobody has died in the fire, and no buildings or homes have been damaged or destroyed. Crews closed Soda Canyon Road to fight the blaze but have not said whether it’s re-opened yet. Evacuations for the area of Soda Springs Road were lifted Wednesday.
