Emergency crews were rushed to Leith Walk in Edinburgh after receiving the alarm at around 9.06pm last night. Two fire engines were called to the scene to tackle the fire from within a building.
It is currently unknown if there were any injuries. Eyewitnesses on a nearby tram told Edinburgh Live how they came to a stop along the street before being told to exit. One person said: "We were told to get off the tram. The road is closed in both directions and there was someone lying on the ground." Images from the scene show multiple fire engines at the scene with a Scottish Fire and Rescue Service cordon in place.
A spokesperson from SFRS said: "We are currently dealing with an incident on Leith Walk.
