Emergency services raced to a derelict nursery in Glasgow last night as a fire took hold of the building.
Police and fire crews received reports of the blaze at Elba Lane Nursery on St Michael's Lane near Springfield Gardens in the East End at around 9.55pm on October 3. Police Scotland has advised that nearby residents keep their windows shut to block out the thick smoke. It is believed that two fire engines are still on the scene this morning.A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police and emergency services are in attendance at a fire in a building to the rear of St Michael's Lane near Springfield Gardens, Gallowgate, Glasgow.
"Officers were called to the blaze around 9.55pm on Tuesday, October 3. Due to the smoke from the building, residents in the nearby streets are advised to keep their windows closed until further notice."St Michael's Lane is closed at this time."
