Community Protection Officers have issued 11 Fixed Penalty Notices for illegal street trading at Goose Fair. The annual fair has returned to Nottingham from Friday, September 29 to Sunday, October 8 and has a range of amusements, stalls and rides for visitors to enjoy.
So far a total of 11 FPNs have been issued at the site for illegal street trading. This comes after a number of toys were seized at the fair last week as part of safety checks by the Nottingham City Council Trading Standards team. Community Protection Officers and the Trading Standards team have been working together to seize unsafe items, and the officers are also working to patrol the wider area and tackle any incidents of anti-social behaviour.
On X, formerly known as Twitter, the Community Protection Central Hub stated: "We're half way through Goose Fair and have already had a busy few days! So far, CPOs have issued 11 FPNs for Illegal Street Trading, supported @NottmCityTS with seizures of unsafe items, patrolled key transport networks and the wider area tackling ASB."
