The highest daily number of passengers since 2018 were recorded as Rangers took on Ajax last week
In the past month, the SPT service has recorded over 56,000 passengers on two dates, Wednesday, October 12 and Tuesday, November 1.
Combined with more people returning to public transport for work and leisure purposes, SPT bosses have now said that passenger patronage is at approximately 95% of pre-Covid figures.SPT director of Subway Antony Smith said: “Like all public transport operators, we have been very concerned about the longer-term impact of Covid on our services.
“Our staff have done an excellent job to get these high numbers of passengers through the system quickly and safely on two very busy nights."
