It was the best performance of Lawrence's career to date and it comes at a great time as the Jaguars look to find a way to sneak into the playoffs. It may not be too far-fetched of an ordeal, either. But, that'll start this week with a big game against the Dallas Cowboys, perhaps the team's most formidable opponent this season.
The issue really has been blocking and opportunities. Against the Titans, Tennessee was incredible against the run. He was limited to just 32 yards on 17 carries, his worst game of the season. Against the Lions, the team was so far behind early on that it was pointless to try, leading to 54 yards on 13 carries.
Lawrence is also playing with a chip on his shoulder. On Wednesday, he spoke on his reaction to throwing a red zone interception against the Broncos in the middle of the season, likely losing the game off that play alone. Since then, he hasn't looked back and hasn't wanted to have that feeling again. A feeling of letting the team down.
Pollard is averaging 5.7 yards per carry this year, while serving as the backup to Elliott. The team is currently averaging 144.5 yards per game on the ground, while they are the second-best team in getting rushing touchdowns at 1.6 a game. Still, I don't think Patterson is having the type of year where you sign him to a multi-year deal straight away and he can certainly be upgraded.If the Jaguars beat the Cowboys on Sunday, do you think they make the playoffs?Hi JP!
