The driver and passenger of the pickup have been identified as 22-year-old Marcus Taylor and 26-year-old Destiny Wood of Fairbanks.

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - On January 20 at approximately 1 p.m. a pickup truck traveling on the Parks Highway, 30 miles south of Cantwell, near milepost 183, entered the opposite lane of the road and struck an oncoming semi truck head-on. Both vehicles caught fire as a result of the collision.

Alaska State Troopers, Alaska Wildlife Troopers and Emergency Medical Services responded to the accident. The occupants of the pickup were declared dead at the scene. The State Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the driver and passenger of the pickup as 22-year-old Marcus Taylor and 26-year-old Destiny Wood, both from Fairbanks.

The driver of the semi truck was medevacked to a nearby hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
