Exclusive surveillance video obtained by KOMO News shows the crime that eventually led to a deadly officer-involved shooting in Kent.
Officers said they chased after the suspect following a report that he and another man ditched a stolen truck inside a random driveway a mile away.
"Adrenaline rush, my heart was racing, basically tried to stay as calm as I could," Johnston told KOMO News. Under Johnston's directions, both men calmly walked away to a nearby Chevron store. Johnston then called 911. At the gas station, moments later, police confronted both men. That's when they said one of them ran away.
