Chancellor Jeremy Hunt has agreed people over 23 will see the minimum they get paid go from £10.42 an hour to £11
An exact date has been confirmed for when more than 2 million people on the national living wage will get a pay rise of around £1,000 a year. This week the government revealed it has committed to the National Living Wage will rise to two-thirds of average earnings.
The National Minimum Wage is the minimum pay per hour almost all workers are entitled to. The National Living Wage is higher than the National Minimum Wage - workers get it if they’re over 23 - and all employers have to pay it no matter how small they are.
