The former Liverpool midfielder is now impressing in Serie A seven years after leaving Anfield
Former Liverpool midfielder Luis Alberto has claimed he had a 'very bad time' during the first few months after leaving Anfield.
His association with Liverpool came to an end in 2016 after being sold to Lazio, a club which has enabled the Spaniard to thrive and become one of the standout performers in Serie A. A regular provider of goals and assists, Alberto's breakthrough season occurred during 2017/18 after scoring 11 goals and registering 14 assists in 34 league appearances.
"I had a very bad time the first five months, especially because I arrived on the last day," he told the Spanish outlet of his deadline day switch to Lazio. Eventually able to turn things around and develop into a key player, the versatile midfielder has admitted this came about following a shift in mentality.
