Jorge Alberto Oceguera-Rocha, 25, a resident of Banning, resigned after his Sept. 27 arrest. It was unclear why he was re-arrested Wednesday.
The former Riverside County correctional deputy who was arrested on suspicion of illegallyposted $1 million bail on Wednesday, Sept. 20 was re-arrested that same day and is now being held in lieu of $5 million bail, jail records show.
Jorge Alberto Oceguera-Rocha, 25, a resident of Banning, resigned after his Sept. 17 arrest, the Sheriff’s Department said Monday. He was being held at Cois M. Byrd Detention Center in French Valley. He was able to come up with the 10% of the $1 million required to post bail. He was re-arrested at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday on a residential street in Banning and once again is being held at Byrd Detention Center.
Oceguera-Rocha was pulled over at 3:30 a.m. on Sunday on the 10 Freeway at County Line Road in Calimesa. He was booked on suspicion of possession of illegal narcotics for sales, transportation of illegal drugs for sales and possession of illegal drugs and a firearm. The jail log said he had more than 44 pounds.
