The AI-assisted colonoscopies also detected adenomas ≥ 10 mm, adenomas < 5 mm, nonpedunculated adenomas, and adenomas in both the proximal and distal colon at a statistically significant higher rate. Findings were similar in a per protocol analysis.
There was no statistical difference between the two groups in detection of colorectal cancer, sessile serrated lesions, hyperplastic polyps, or pedunculated adenomas. "What they call less experienced colonoscopists, in fact, are fairly experienced too. Therefore, I'm not so sure about the significance of this finding," he said.Next Steps
