Liz Truss has resigned as the UK's Prime Minister
On Thursday Liz Truss stepped down from her role as Prime Minister with her having been in the role for just six weeks - the equivalent of 44 days.
Emerging from 10 Downing Street alongside her husband, as reported by the Daily Record, the public were informed that another Conservative Party leadership election will be held within the next week, making her successor the third PM of 2022.But what did she say during her resignation? Here is Liz Truss' speech in full.
"Putin's illegal war in Ukraine threatens the security of our whole continent. And our country has been held back for too long by low economic growth. "And we set out a vision for a low-tax, high-growth economy that would take advantage of the freedoms of Brexit."
