Everton defender Gabby George is set to join Manchester United ahead of Thursday's Women's Super League transfer deadline.
It is understood Everton were keen to retain George's services. However, United have activated a release clause in her contract, believed to be in the region of £150,000. The defender, who came through United's youth ranks before joining the Blues, will make the switch to Leigh Sports Village as Marc Skinner seeks to build a squad capable of yielding the Red Devils' first major trophy.
