Donald Gunderman and Danielle Pascale urinated in the boy’s food, shot him with a BB gun, beat him with several objects and frequently locked him in rooms alone in a case of abuse that spanned nearly three years, according to court records.
CLEVELAND, Ohio — A Euclid couple who prosecutors said “systematically beat, tortured and starved” an 8-year-old boy face decades in prison after they pleaded guilty Monday.
Gunderman, who pleaded guilty to one count of child kidnapping, six counts of endangering children and one count each of domestic violence and tampering with evidence, faces a maximum sentencing range of 34 to 39 1/2 years in prison. Euclid police detectives took over the investigation and interviewed other children and people in the house, as well as neighbors and relatives.
