Episcopal Knights softball wins record fifth consecutive SPC championship

The Knights had a bye in the first round of the SPC tournament after going a perfect 5-0 in conference play and earning the No. 1 seed from the South Zone. Senior Reese Barrett started all three tournament games, pitching a total of 15 innings and giving up 0 earned runs.“It was hit hard to the third baseman, Reagan ,” Barrett described. “I could see her out of the corner of my eye, and I was thinking ‘calm down, you still have to make a throw’.” She threw to first and got the out. I looked at Reagan and hugged her and then ran to my catcher Lily , and I hugged her for like 30 seconds.
“I came back to the program because those four years were so special,” Cain explained. “I was blessed to be coached by Coach Randolph. He taught me, both as a player and a coach, what it takes to win SPC championships, so it definitely builds upon the legacy he’s already set.”“We had a young team,” she said. “I’m excited for all the returners we have, and I’m very excited about the incoming freshmen we have. I really think we have a chance to go for a six-peat.”St.
