Emmerdale Woolpack legend Samantha Giles quits show after 25 years Emmerdale
But now we'll be saying goodbye to B&B owner and former Woolpack landlady Bernice Blackstock, as actress Samantha Giles 'quits' the ITV soap.
A source told The Sun: "Bernice Blackstock has been in and out of Emmerdale village more than they change the barrels at The Woolpack. She’s always welcomed back with open arms by ITV and fans alike, but it’s now becoming a bit of a running joke. When Samantha first arrived in the village in 1998 she stayed until 2002. During that four years stint on the show, she managed to scoop a TV Quick Award for Best Actress.Four years later, Samantha returned to the world of soap, but this time in Cheshire with Hollyoaks. The award-winning actress played Valerie Holden from 2008 until 2010.
Samantha has then released two books, the first one called Rosemary and the Witches of Pendle Hill was put out in 2020 by the actress. Following on from that in 2021 she then released her second book which she called Rosemary and the Book of the Dead.
