Emmerdale spoilers see Paddy Kirk consider taking his own life in a heartbreaking turn in upcoming episodes after weeks of struggling with isolation, grief and confusion.
As Paddy and Chas both try to navigate co-parenting their young daughter Eve, the village vet has been unhappily cohabiting with Chas above the busy Woolpack pub. As a result, during the episode which airs on ITV1 on Thursday 9th February, viewers will see Paddy suddenly leave the village without telling his friends or family.
Emmerdale producer Laura Shaw explains of the heartbreaking storyline: "As soon as we started discussing this story we knew that it was vital for us to get it right and that we needed to open up the conversation about male depression and suicide. Lorna Fraser, the Executive Lead for Samaritans’ Media Advisory Service, commented: "Paddy’s story creates an opportunity to show others, particularly middle-aged men, however difficult times can become, it's always possible to get help and get through, and ultimately recover.
