BREAKING: Emma Raducanu wins BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2021
The 19-year-old enjoyed an astonishing breakout year in tennis as she won theand became the first British woman to win a Grand Slam singles title since Virginia Wade in 1977.
Raducanu was sitting her A-levels in economics and maths just two months before making her debut at Wimbledon earlier this year.She went on to deliver a dominant display in her next Grand Slam event as she did not lose a set on her way to winning the US Open. Tom Daley came second in the vote, while Adam Peaty took third place.
