Emergency services are on the scene
following reports of a serious assault in Blackburn this afternoon .
Police attended the area shortly after 3pm. A male has been transported to hospital. There were reports a man had been attacked with a weapon, believed to be a baseball bat, suffering serious head injuries.lancashire-constabulary>Lancashire Constabulary have launched an investigation into what they have described as an 'attack'. Reports the incident was a stabbing have not been confirmed by police.
A spokesperson for police said: "We were called around 3.20pm today to a report of an assault in Fawcett Close, Blackburn. Emergency services attended following a report a man had been attacked.Det Insp John McNamara, of Blackburn CID, said: “We have launched an investigation following a serious assault in Blackburn. We are keen to speak to anyone who can assist our enquiries.
