ELYRIA, Ohio - Elyria police say they have a 19-year-old man in custody in connection to Thursday’s shooting at a Walmart parking lot that turned fatal.
Police responded to the Walmart, located at 1000 Chestnut Commons, at 4:54 p.m. after receiving a 911 call that a man had been shot in the parking lot. Police confirmed the 21-year-old, identified as Nicholas Tubbs, of Grafton, was transported to University Hospitals.EPD said they arrested 19-year-old Roosevelt Benton, of Oberlin at his home Friday after issuing a warrant for his arrest for felonious assault.Benton was arraigned Friday morning, Pelko says, and more charges are anticipated in the shooting.
