Skagit County's election office also received an envelope containing an unknown powdery substance, according to the Washington Secretary of State.The Tacoma Fire Department responded to the Pierce County Elections office Wednesday morning after a worker found an envelope with white powder inside. Farmer said 911 was called and the building was evacuated. The FBI has also been notified and officials are working with United States Postal Service inspectors.
Farmer said the uncounted ballots at the Pierce County Elections office were secure and locked while the building was evacuated. She said political party observers were watching the area on camera, and reiterated to KOMO that the ballots were secure.
