Judson ISD has been roiled by a change in leadership. It falls to the school board to steady things.
Details are scant, but we know former Judson Superintendent Jeanette Ball’s annual evaluation in November degenerated into a secret negotiation for her rushed resignation. Some of her supporters blamed certain trustees, but her detractors alleged poor personnel and governance choices by Ball, who was recently hired as Southwest ISD superintendent.On ExpressNews.com:. She is a Judson High School graduate, a retired teacher and mother who was first elected in 2015.
It’s clear Paschall made some mistakes in judgment in her lack of interest in the allegations against Ball. While we don’t know the details of the allegations, we know the board unanimously approved Ball’s rushed resignation. But Paschall’s record of service to the district, experience in the classroom and experience as a trustee are important strengths., an education technology company executive who was elected in May 2021.
Diaz said he was the “genesis of the investigations” of Ball and that he has no regrets. Part of the responsibility of a board member is to hold the superintendent accountable, he said. Paschall said she can still work with Diaz. “We did not agree,” she said. “We definitely did not agree, but we have not become enemies over that.”
