The event celebrates all things green and environmentally friendly
The festival, which celebrates all things green and environmentally friendly, is organised by Hyndburn’s community-owned environmental charity, The PROSPECTS Foundation. Hundreds of people turned out for the free activities and entertainment on offer, including bug hotel and recycled art workshops, street theatre performances, smoothie bike, archery and heritage woodcraft demonstrations.
Students from St Christopher’s School in Accrington, showcased recycled fashion in a ‘Trashion’ show with outfits made from recycled materials including Holland’s pie wrappers and Covid face masks. Pupils from the school also gave an environmentally themed performance using puppets made from recycled materials.
Local environmental charities and organisations had stands at the event, including the Lancashire Wildlife Trust, RSPB, Ribble Rivers Trust, Lancashire Badger Group, South Pennines Park, Woody CIC, East Lancashire Beekeepers, Turtle Bee plastic-free eco shop, Cambodia Craft, Hyndburn Council, Move2Change, Community Rail, Active Lancashire, Hyndburn Food Pantry and Cosy Homes in Lancashire.
