Former EastEnders star Maisie Smith will have a key role in an upcoming gangster flick, as she lands her first major film role just 18 months after leaving the BBC soap
Maisie Smith has reportedly landed first major film role, as she's said to have been cast in key role in the upcoming gangster film Bermondsey Tales: Fall Of The Roman Empire, alongside a handful of famous faces.
Prior to joining to cast of EastEnders, she made her film debut as a very young Elizabeth I in 2008’s The Other Boleyn Girl. And despite finding success on both the small screen and the stage, she had not made it back to film until now. "Maisie’s schedule has been packed because she’s been on tour with the show Strictly Ballroom: The Musical. Once that has ended this summer she will get to work on the film. It’s all very exciting.”The news comes after Maisie and boyfriend Max George sparked backlash after they shared a fake "pregnancy" announcement after having a lavish five course meal in Abu Dhabi.
While some found the post funny, others hit out at them for seemingly joking about expecting a baby as many couples struggle to conceive.
