But Manning is included here because of the possibility he leapfrogs incumbent starting Quinn Ewers and redshirt freshman Maalik Murphy at some point. Manning posted a 34-9 record as a four-year starter while compiling 8,599 career passing yards and 115 touchdowns with 20 interceptions. He rushed for another 1,155 rushing and 25 touchdowns.A couple years ago, Hill attended a summer camp at Texas. Arch Manning was there. Johntay Cook II was there. So was Maalik Muhammad, Liona Lefau and a number of other future Longhorns.
The top-ranked linebacker in the country, Hill could become an immediate starter at Texas with starting linebacker DeMarvion Overshown, weakside linebacker Diamonte Tucker-Dorsey and potentially junior linebacker Jaylan Ford all entering the 2023 NFL Draft. “Baxter is a big, physical runner,” Sarkisian said of the 6-foot-1 and 220-pound halfback. “He’s going to be a big physical back, one that we’re used to having in our system.”
