Man United nearly made a move for Sesko last summer after John Murtough met with the forward's agent
RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Šeško admits he was not involved in transfer talks with Manchester United but insists a move to Germany was better for his development.
United were in the market for a world-class striker this summer, with Erik ten Hag desperate to add goals to his side after seeing them score just 58 in the Premier League last season. Harry Kane was the Dutchman's prime target, but football director John Murtough had spoken with Šeško the previous summer and the youngster was again linked with a move to Old Trafford.
"It was very important for me to go to a place that plays a similar style of football. I already knew what I had to do and didn’t have to go through a whole learning process again. After concentrating on other areas of the pitch in Ten Hag's first transfer window, United ended up welcoming Rasmus Hojlund to Old Trafford this summer after agreeing a £72million deal with Atalanta.
