The Dynamo were trying to pick up their seventh consecutive home shutout in all competitions and fell to 5-1-1 during that stretch. Seattle was coming off a 3-1 loss to the L.A. Galaxy in the U.S. Open Cup and snapped a two-game losing streak. The Sounders remain atop the Western Conference standings with 23 points, while the Dynamo is in the middle of the pack with 14.
