DWP warns Universal Credit change could see claimants lose benefits if they don't act
The Department for Work and Pensions has warned that many benefit claimants could lose their support if they fail to act soon.
According to the government, legacy claimants will be better off moving to a new future-proofed modern benefits system. In some cases, however, an individual's entitlement to Universal Credit will be lower than their legacy benefits entitlement.Fortunately, such people will be eligible for a top-up payment known as Transitional Protection which will ensure their entitlement remains the same as they move onto the new system.
