Money will arrive in people's bank accounts sooner than first thought
The Department for Work and Pensions has made a change to the timings of payments made under the cost of living scheme.
But, in a new update, the DWP has said that the £299 payment is due 'by spring 2024'. This means it will arrive before March 20 and people will get the cash earlier than initially expected. People on Working Tax Credits or Child Tax Credits will receive the next cost of living cash boost in a narrower window of November 10 to November 19. It will be paid out by HMRC, which administers the tax credits system. People will also need to have had a tax credit payment during the qualifying period and will not be eligible if their tax credit entitlement for the entire tax year is below £26.
