Semi-truck on fire, traffic stopped in the area
AHWATUKEE, AZ — A deadly wrong-way crash is under investigation along Loop 202 South Mountain near 40th Street.
The crash occurred in the eastbound lanes of the freeway around 10:30 a.m. Monday. The lanes were shut down during an investigation and have since reopened. Arizona Department of Public Safety officials say the crash happened when an SUV driver went the wrong direction and collided with multiple cars and a semi-truck.DPS says the driver of this SUV was going the wrong way on the 202 when they crashed into multiple vehicles including a semi.However, DPS is waiting to inform next of kin before releasing their name. pic.twitter.
