A plume of black smoke could been across the area after the car caught fire on De Havilland Way
There were long queues on surrounding roads as firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze during last night's rush hour.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: "At shortly before 5pm on Monday one fire engine from Bolton was called to attend a car fire on De Havilland Way, Bolton. READ MORE: 'We have lost our beautiful girl in the most tragic way' - Tributes paid to woman at centre of murder probe"Our crews arrived quickly and used two hose reels, breathing apparatus and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire.
"Crews worked alongside colleagues from Greater Manchester Police to make the area safe and were in attendance for approximately 50 minutes."
