Doyel: Forget the record. All the Speedway basketball team does is win

This isn’t your normal story, but then, this isn’t your normal high school basketball program, small town, diner. Not normal, any of it. The Sparkplugs happened to beat Shortridge that night, a 66-65 victory that pushed their record to 3-17 heading into Senior Night. The other two seniors on the 2023 Speedway Sparkplugs are brothers, fraternal twins Cale and Creighton Bennett. Cale’s name comes first because he’s one minute older.Coach Chuck Bennett’s sons, those two, along with sophomore Camden Bennett.in state history, while Creighton is a long-snapping specialist who could be headed to Marian to play football.
